Super Bowl Sunday Upstream High Tide Paddle
Kick off your Super Bowl Sunday with a paddle you won’t forget as the tide hits an incredible 7.3 feet, unlocking the stunning upstream reaches of the Petaluma River. This peaceful, wildlife-filled tidal slough offers a magical escape into nature, with hawks soaring above and herons and egrets nesting in the trees.
Upstream High Tide Paddle
Join us for a special high tide paddle that opens up the green and glorious upstream reaches of Petaluma’s storied tidal slough! With the tide at a perfect 6.5 feet, we’ll launch in sit-on-top kayaks from downtown and paddle past echoes of history—Gold Rush-era buildings, flood control walls, and working grain silos—before slipping into the serene embrace of nature.

The future is NOW for our tidal slough, a Gold Rush-era saltwater highway. On this gentle guided paddle, explore its past, be part of its revival, and meet the individuals and organizations who are reclaiming the river. See their work firsthand and experience the lasting benefits for all, on “Petaluma’s Longest Park”.
The Petaluma River is 13 miles long from Basin to Bay, but we’ll be paddling about a mile total. Journey through time and be part of the story.

Ride upriver on a five-foot tide. We can only access the stunning upstream reaches of the tidal slough known as the Petaluma River when the tide rises to a certain point, so take advantage! This peaceful, wildlife-filled tidal slough offers a much-needed escape into nature, with hawks soaring above and herons and egrets nesting in the trees.
This afternoon paddle is the perfect way to get some spring energy going as the weekend begins.
