    SUP YOGA

My goal is to help my students find meaning and presence in the practice of yoga. As an Occupational Therapist for 20+ years and yoga practitioner for 30+ years, I’ve worked with people of diverse ages and abilities and at varied stages of health. I teach alignment-focused flow and SUP Yoga. I try to balance fun and fluidity with vigor and vibrance. My touchstones are spirit, clarity, connection and dedication.

    ROWING

I taught myself to row after I saw rowing boats during a summer program in Cambridge, England. I learned from the open water rowers in the area, then in time, ended up founding the North Bay Rowing Club, in 1984. I love the sport, the accessibility of the water from a rowing boat, no matter what kind, and I love helping folks discover the freedom, the speed (if they want it) and the fun of just moving along under their own power.

    SUP

I stumbled upon stand-up paddling in 2016 and swiftly fell under its spell, despite initially feeling like a fish out of water. Embracing my newfound passion, I dove headfirst into the world of SUP, seeking knowledge and skill through dedicated lessons until I emerged as a certified instructor accredited by the ACA at Level 2.

Amidst the picturesque landscapes of the San Francisco Bay, rivers, and lakes, I find my sanctuary, often accompanied by my faithful canine companions. Yet, my wanderlust extends beyond familiar shores; I dream of leading SUP tours in exotic locales adorned with warm, crystal-clear waters.

Fueling my ambition is a desire to undertake endurance trips, pushing the boundaries of my own abilities while fostering a deep connection with nature. But my true joy lies in sharing my passion with others, guiding them along their own paddle journeys, and watching as they blossom in confidence and technique. In every stroke, I find fulfillment, knowing I’m empowering others to discover the serenity and exhilaration that stand-up paddling offers.
